Clay for Dad

Kin + Clay started through the ongoing grief process of losing Gabb’s dad, “Bud the potter” on September 7th, 2021. After he passed, Gabbi inherited his wheel and hasn’t stopped making pottery since. We turned our garage into a shop much like the one she watched her dad pour his heart and soul into most of his life. We are honoring him and his work by continuing his legacy, passing on his love of clay to our 6 year old and to our community near and far.

Our pieces are inspired by our love of the mountains and the calming earth tone colors of some of our favorite natural landscapes.

We love to create unique, modern, conversation starter pieces you can enjoy with your friends and family around your dinner table.

We can ship directly to you or you can schedule a local pickup

Special orders (custom/pre-order and any of your own pieces made at our events) please allow for a 4-6 week turn around especially during busy times of the year. Ceramics is quite a process and everything goes through 2 kiln fires. Thanks for your patience and understanding and for supporting small, handmade, family-owned businesses.

We’re So Glad You’re Here

It’s been quite a year for our family. A big move (San Diego to Fresno). A big loss (Gabbi’s dad). If you asked us a year ago what we would be doing in our new city, I don’t think we could’ve predicted starting a pottery business.

It’s honestly been one the most healing and wonderful things for our family. Your support this past year has helped us in so many ways. We now have our own kiln, a pottery shop, AND a travel wheel for workshops and events!

Next up is moving toward opening our own pottery retail & event space downtown.

Our 2023 Pride Collection Cups come in two different color options.

Our speckled brown (calico clay) is raw on the outside for those that love the earthy feel, and our speckled cream (speckled bee-mix) is fully glazed both inside and out. Each one is unique and has a thumb indent on the side for easy grip. Hand-painted with clouds and rain drops that turn into clouds with a sun peering out, into rainbows!
